A nation is in mourning. Across Tooro Kingdom and far beyond it, flags have been lowered, drums have fallen silent, and clans have gathered to grieve the passing of Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the King of Tooro, who died on the evening of Thursday, 27 August 2026, at the age of 34 following a critical illness.

In a historic gathering along the southeastern shores of Lake Albert, on 2nd September, 2026. President Yoweri Museveni officiated the unveiling and ceremonial naming of Uganda’s crude oil.
